The collection’s offerings are anchored in pastel shades and sandy hues, with a mixture of island tie-dye and seashell prints. The designer’s own selected picks include the Thalia dress, a seashell-print draped tunic dress in mint and peach as well as the Liliana kurung, a blush-coloured kaftan top and sarong set. FERN

Famed for their soft, luxurious and modern take on Malaysian batik, FERN draws their inspiration from Morocco for this year’s Raya collection. Named the Moroccan series, the collection creatively interprets colours and patterns from the landscape and valleys of the Sahara desert and the Atlas mountain. Think star-filled night skies, the beautiful damask rose, intense blue tones of the little town of Chefchaouen as well as the beautiful Moorish mosaic patterns filling the Medina of Fez with palm trees towering the streets. Items in the collection range from RM367.64 to RM1636.70 a piece.

ANAABU

Known for their loose silhouettes and sophisticated take on basics, ANAABU invites you to go back to nature for their Raya collection. Aptly named Alam (or ‘universe’, in English) the collection was inspired by the various elements in nature which then fuses together a complete universe. The selection of colours in this collection incorporates the earthy hues of black, brown, white, contrasting shades of green as well as the dusky shades of maroon, peach, and mustard. Additionally, some items – like the sandy Awan robe – even have hidden pockets sewn in! All pieces are sold separately, with prices ranging from RM129 to RM349 each.

Maslea

Aptly named ‘Nostalgia Raya’, Maslea’s Raya roll-out this year is all about recreating old love. The collection itself was inspired by the memories of the designer’s late grandmother, Masliah, which also happens to be the namesake for the latest women’s range of items. The brand also brought back last-year’s best- seller, the long, alongside their staple classic kebaya and kurung tops. Maslea is also doing a line of men’s baju Melayu under the ‘Jais’ range this year - a first for the brand. Prices start at RM168 for men’s tops, and at RM208 for women’s tops.

Melinda’s signature clashing prints and intricate beading details are also incorporated within the Raya Magazine collection. There’s a fair variety of colours to please everyone: choose from either the bold hues of canary yellow, cerise and fuchsia or opt for the softer salmon pink shade. Sets in the collection are priced between RM748 to RM 2,088 and are produced on a made-to-order basis, so prepare to wait at least 30-40 days for your outfit to be prepared!
