The nation’s premier airport operator is well prepared to welcome back passengers with the lifting of travel restrictions

The restrictions for both local and international travel have been lifted and Malaysia Airports is happy to welcome travellers with enhanced safety measures and upgraded facilities at its network of 39 airports.

The low passenger volume due to the pandemic had caused low passenger volume but despite that, airports across the nation remained open and Malaysia Airports took the lull period as an opportunity to enhance its facilities to ensure a safe airport experience in anticipation of travel resumption.

“For the past year, airport readiness has been a key factor in ensuring that our services stay relevant, and standards remain high. Our staff at all airports are very well prepared to operate at optimum levels of efficiency as we welcome back passengers. We have also achieved a 98% vaccination rate for all staff nationwide in our bid to return to normalcy.

“Passengers can be fully assured of their safety as our airport operations return to full swing. We are expecting a surge in passenger movements in the coming months; therefore, we will heighten all SOPs for a continuous and sustainable recovery for the aviation industry. Our commitment remains in hosting joyful connections for passengers, be it for business or leisure,” said group chief executive of Malaysia Airports Dato’ Mohd Shukrie Salleh.

He added that the airport operator had also ensured full compliance to COVID-19 hygiene measures with five international airports namely KLIA, LGK, Penang, Kota Kinabalu and Kuching certified with the global ACI Airport Health Accreditation (AHA). Further, Malaysia Airports has achieved a 98% vaccination rate for its staff nationwide.
