A plethora of food offerings at Kuala Lumpur International Airport as well as klia2 showcased during MIGF KULinary
Initiated in 2016, KULinary aims to showcase the variety of food offerings that are available for travellers at both terminals of Kuala Lumpur International Airport (ie KLIA and klia2).
The campaign, which took place at the Stage Area of Level 5 Departure Hall (KLIA Main Terminal Building) from November 8 to 10, 2019, served as a catalyst for food and beverage (F&B) operators at KL International Airport to strive not only in terms of food variety, quality and value but also the service level to ensure an enjoyable dining experience for all. It was also developed to increase traveller awareness – and those passing through the airports – of the service and quality of F&B options available for them to choose from.
The fourth edition this year raised the bar by collaborating with the Malaysia International Gastronomy Festival (MIGF) where the F&B outlets were evaluated by a team of professional judges for the F&B awards, including the world-renowned Chef Wan.
During the KULinary campaign, one had the opportunity to indulge in some food sampling; food samplers could be purchased with GastroDollars (via a booklet priced at RM30 containing six RM5 vouchers).
Other activities that were organised included cooking classes conducted by a range of experts in the business, namely Chef Giuseppe Lioce (Nero Nero), Chef Nathalie Arbefeuille (Nathalie Gourmet Studio), Chef Wan (De.Wan 1958), Chef Johnson Wong (gēn 根), Chef Tetsuya Yanagida (MIYABI), Chef Gary Cheng (Champignon), Chef Sapna Anand (Goa), Chef Suppaiya Sivaraja (A Li Yaa), Chef Dato’ Fazley Yaakob (SukaSucre) and Chef Tham Kit (Purple Cane).
The three-day event was wonderfully complemented by a number of lifestyle workshops led by Andrew Locke Monin (Mocktail Workshop), Dome Café (Coffee Workshop), Tran Thị Thu Hien and Truong Hoang Nghia (Aki 3D Jelly Cake – Wagashi Cake and 4D Agar Agar Art Cake), Wong Sook Yee (Purple Cane – Chinese Tea Appreciation), Sapna Anand (Goa – Spices by Sapna) and Stephanie Ng (Cake Decoration).
