Malaysia Airports participates as one of the GLC in GLC Open Day

Government Linked Companies (GLC) and Government Linked Investment Companies (GLIC) have played a significant role in building the nation and supporting the country’s economic growth and on 11 to 13 March 2022, their achievements over the past decade were showcased in the GLC Open Day 2022.
Themed “Aspirasi Masyarakat Inspirasi Negara”, the open day was centred on five main focuses namely the Rakyat, Business, Economy, Public Health and the Bumiputera Agenda. The open day showcases the importance of GLCs and GLICs have brought to all Malaysians benefitting “Keluarga Malaysia” (Malaysian Family).


As one of the participants of the open day, Malaysia Airports, the nation’s premier airport operator showcased its role in the socio-economic development of the country through its progress from infrastructure and operational-based organisation into a commercial-driven entity.
Throughout the years, Malaysia Airports has been active in developing and nurturing the economy of the country by connecting people to destinations and opportunities all over the world.
Malaysia Airports highlighted that it acts as an ecosystem provider in the aviation industry, supplying multiple opportunities for its business partners such as airline companies and aerospace players. For example, through its Aeropolis development at KLIA and Subang Airport, the airport operator has provided a wide range of employment opportunities which in turn benefitted Malaysians and created a multiplier effect on the nation’s economy.
Other than that, the airport operator also highlighted its efforts in nurturing the local businesses as well as Small and Medium-sized Enterprises by providing a platform at airports for the growth of SMEs.
Throughout the years, Malaysia Airports has been focusing on providing connectivity for the passengers and business entities and will continue to enhance air connectivity to drive Malaysia’s socio-economic growth.
