Passengers can try being a cabin crew member with Thai Airways with their “Be Our Guest Be Our Crew” programme.
The COVID-19 pandemic has immobilised most major businesses across the globe. The severity of the impact is most pronounced in the airlines' industry, as a result of the ongoing travel bans. Planes continue to stay grounded, and the future of flying remains uncertain. In order to stay commercially viable, airline companies need to get creative to keep operating.
Thai Airways is one of the airlines experiencing the effects of the pandemic and have come up with a novel offering for the public. With their “Be Our Guest Be Our Crew” programme, the public can now join the Thai Flight Training Academy and be a flight attendant for a day. Trainees will undergo a four-hour crash course, wear the airline’s signature uniform, get their hair done and carry out cabin crew duties in a mock-up of an Airbus A380.
Those who participate will be trained to greet customers, conduct safety demonstrations and serve food in business class. What’s interesting is that one friend or family member can join in on the fun as a passenger, and they will also be served with food and snacks provided by the airline. The whole experience costs THB2,900 and is a unique opportunity to learn about the ins-and-outs of being a Thai Airways cabin crew member. Those in Thailand may check with the Thai Flight Training Academy to book this experience.
