Fine Dining, A380 Style

Diners to experience fine dining aboard a Singapore Airlines Airbus A380 converted into a pop-up restaurant.

The unprecedented events of the pandemic have wrought disruptions on the aviation and tourism sectors. To weather the storm, airlines are outlining strategic measures to raise revenues while bringing new and exciting experiences for their guests.

Recently, Singapore Airlines (SIA) had highlighted plans for ‘flights to nowhere’ that would bring passengers sight-seeing over iconic Singaporean landmarks before landing back in Changi Airport. However, the plans have been jettisoned due to environmental concerns. To replace the activity, Singapore Airlines presented a new alternative to their customers - an exclusive dining experience inside the world’s largest passenger aircraft, the Airbus A380, at Restaurant A380 @Changi.

Diners can look forward to an exciting onboard menu featuring SIA’s selection of international cuisines, as well as an authentic Peranakan spread by acclaimed Singaporean chef Shermay Lee. Upon booking a spot on SIA’s website, diners choose the cabin class they prefer to dine in. All diners will receive a limited edition goodie bag, with additional gifts for those who turn up in traditional attire such as the sarong kebaya, saree or cheongsam.

Other than that, limited slots for an exclusive pre-lunch tour of the aircraft will be available, too. Reservations for Restaurant A380 @Changi opened on 12 October 2020, for bookings on either 24 or 25 October 2020. Restaurant A380 @Changi is part of SIA’s Discover Your Singapore Airlines suite of experiences, which comprises exciting initiatives specially curated for guests and fans of the flag carrier.
