It is “all systems go” for Malaysia Airports with enhanced safety procedures in place to welcome back domestic travellers.
There is an expected resurgence of travellers following the reopening of the domestic tourism sector as the nation enters the recovery phase from COVID-19. It is necessary to practice stringent safety measures, now, more than ever, to eliminate the future threat of infection. As the country's main airport operator, Malaysia Airports is committed to providing a safe and seamless travelling experience to all by adhering to stringent safety precautions as we embrace the new normal.
Before entering the terminal building, it is compulsory to put on a face mask. If you have forgotten to bring one, face masks can be purchased at the temporary pharmacy kiosks located at the entrances of the airport terminal building. Other than that, face masks and hand sanitisers are also available at selected vending machines.
As part of ongoing safety measures, body temperature screening is a prerequisite before entering the airport terminal building. Passengers with a temperature of more than 37.5 oC will not be allowed to proceed.
Malaysia Airports is committed to delivering the best experience possible to all travellers, even in unprecedented circumstances. Other than maintaining a strict cleaning schedule for facilities throughout all airports, Malaysia Airports uses the dry-mist fumigation method by deploying the Atomising Fog Machine, Blu- ray Anion Nano Spray Gun and the Micro Mist Blower, effectively killing 99.9% of harmful microorganisms in mere seconds. . Meanwhile, KL International Airport is currently conducting a pilot test to deploy UV Light Disinfection Mobile Robot as an added part of its disinfection procedure. The robot would emit short wavelength UV light throughout the terminal, eliminating pathogens in the air. The strict cleaning procedures assures passengers of some peace of mind when at the airport.
