Malindo Air Stretches its Wings With Flights to Sandakan


Malindo Air launches inaugural flights from KL International Airport to Sandakan, Sabah.

Travellers looking to embrace Sandakan’s natural beauty and its wildlife, as well as ‘Sandakaners’ eager to meet their loved ones have reason to rejoice with a new flying option as Malindo Air commenced its inaugural flight from KL International Airport to Sandakan. The new route follows Kota Kinabalu as the second destination in the state served by the airline, and will be the third airline option linking KK and KL after AirAsia and Malaysia Airlines.

Sandakan, the second biggest town in Sabah, and also known as ‘Elopura’, portrays all the features of a beautiful town with its captivating charm and unique character. Meanwhile, travellers looking to explore Borneo’s alluring selection of nature and wildlife will find it hard to be disappointed when they can choose from various attractions like Turtle Island Park, Labuk Bay Proboscis Monkey Sanctuary, Rainforest Discovery Centre, as well as Sepilok Orangutan Rehabilitation Centre. Back in town, there are numerous cultural and historical heritages to check out such as the Agnes Keith House, Sandakan Memorial Park, Sandakan Heritage Trail, and St. Michael’s and All Angels Church.

Malindo Air’s new KUL-SDK route took off on 17 February 2020, with flyers boarding Malindo Air’s Boeing 737NG Aircraft. Daily flights are available from KL International Airport to Sandakan, with three all-in fares packages available: Super Saver, Economy and Business Promo. Tickets to Sandakan can be booked online via Malindo Air’s official website or through your preferred travel agent.
