Adding a fourth destination in Australia, Malindo Air strengthens connectivity for both Malaysia and Australia
Malindo Air launched its inaugural flight to Adelaide, via Denpasar (Bali) on April 17, 2019, making South Australia’s cosmopolitan coastal capital the carrier’s fourth city in the land Down Under.
“We are delighted to commence our inaugural flight to Adelaide, which marked our fourth city in Australia, after Perth, Brisbane and Melbourne. Our comfortable seat pitch has gained popularity in the market and we have observed positive demand on our Business Class as well,” said Malindo Air CEO Chandran Rama Muthy.
“Currently, we operate four weekly flights between Kuala Lumpur and Adelaide, via Denpasar. There will be more plans for Australia as we continue to explore opportunities for more frequencies and new destinations. This is in line with our aim to carry more passengers’ traffic to respective airports and promote local tourism,” he added.
Raja Azmi Raja Nazuddin, Group Chief Executive Officer of Malaysia Airports said that Malaysia Airports welcomes Malindo Air’s new service to Adelaide, via Denpasar, which will definitely “strengthen connectivity for both Malaysia and Australia”.
He added, “Malaysia Airports have and will continue to collaborate with the Government to ensure that we maximise the effectiveness of our marketing initiatives to attract new airlines and establish new routes. Malaysia Airports also thrives to encourage existing airlines to increase flight frequencies or introduce new routes, as that will provide the passengers greater options and connectivity.”
The flights between Kuala Lumpur and Adelaide, via Denpasar, are operated on Sunday, Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday using a narrow-body Boeing 737-800/900 aircraft, comprising 12 Business Class and 150/168 Economy Class seats.
