Bangkok Airways pioneers direct service from Bangkok to Cam Ranh, Vietnam

Travellers can now fly direct from Bangkok to Cam Ranh, Vietnam with Bangkok Airways Public Company Limited having successfully made its maiden flight between the two destinations on January 25. The airline operates four flights a week (Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday) with a 144-seater Airbus A319 aircraft.

Varong Israsena Na Ayudhya, Vice President - Sale of Bangkok Airways PCL said, “Bangkok Airways is pleased to offer this new service from Bangkok to Cam Ranh, Vietnam. Cam Ranh is situated on the south eastern coast of Vietnam and has been one of the most desired beach holiday destinations for up-scale Vietnamese and European tourists.”

According to him, Cam Ranh has experienced rapid growth in the number of visitors every year – which is also attributed to the constant support from the Vietnamese Government in putting the city on the world map by offering a 15-day visa-free policy for tourists from England, France, Spain, Italy, Germany and a 14 to 90 day visa-free for tourists from Japan, South Korea, Philippines and Chile. Cam Ranh is also very close to Nha Trang city, known as the ‘Riviera of South China Sea’, and has been one of the most popular tourism destinations for European and Vietnamese travellers.

“We consider this to be another milestone as this will make Bangkok Airways the only scheduled airline to fly directly to this popular beach holiday destination from Thailand. The aim of this new launch is not only to enhance Bangkok Airways’ network to cover the Indochina region, but also to provide better flight connections for European, Thai and Vietnamese customers as well as offering regional connecting routes to Cam Ranh for our long-haul codeshare partners.”

Cam Ranh is the fourth destination in Vietnam adding to Bangkok Airways’ route network after a successful performance on Bangkok–Danang, Bangkok–Phu Quoc and Chiang Mai–Hanoi flights launched earlier in May 2016, October 2017 and March 2018 respectively.

Bangkok Airways offers four flights a week (Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday) with a 144-seater Airbus A319 aircraft. The outbound flight PG993 departs Bangkok (Suvarnabhumi) at 10.20am and arrives at Cam Rahn (Nha Trang) International Airport at 12.05pm. The inbound flight PG994 departs Cam Rahn (Nha Trang) Airport at 12.55pm and arrives in Bangkok (Suvarnabhumi) at 2.40pm.
